I was randomly searching for more info about Jose Gonzalez’ Heartbeats (my current LSS. see the post before this) when I stumbled upon this amazing and colourful Sony Bravia ad in youtube. I didn’t know about this until today. I know! I’ve been living under a rock. I’m not quite sure if this was shown here in the Philippines, but if it was, I don’t think I’ll be able to watch it anyway because I barely watch TV. lol

I could watch this video forever. I like that after the clip, you get to see the behind-the-scenes of making the commercial. The soothing and calming scenes of tiny colourful (haha I’m spelling like the Brits now wink ) balls bouncing slowly down the streets of San Francisco, is very different from the noisy and not to mention, potentially damaging actual shoot. You could hear that ‘thud’ as the balls hit the parked cars and also the car alarms as they go off. Yikes! One of my favorite parts would be that frog jumping out of a pipe. I like noticing tiny details. )

Play doh!

Wow! So the creative geniuses in Sony produced a follow-up commercial. This time they used colourful play-doh molded bunnies and stop-motion. Again, it blew me away! Imagine the effort they all put in making the ad (they didn’t use CG!).

I’m pretty sure that Sony Bravia sales shoot up, thanks to these ads. They’re pretty effective, imho. And if only I have the means, I’d probably buy an LCD TV. (I wish! lol)

[EDIT] The Pyramid Ad [/EDIT]

Thanks Way and Maws for letting me know about this Asian Bravia ad. )

Brilliant beyond words!

50!

To the sweetest dad in the world, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We have a surprise for you this evening (part of which, I’m making right now) but you wouldn’t know because you don’t read my blog. ) lol. Love you! xoxo.

18FebAI 7 Crush!

I caught up on American Idol 7 yesterday and watched the remaining Hollywood audition episodes. I have a crush on someone ohmygad!

It’s David Archuleta (!!!). (Haha! Until now, I can’t seem to remember his surname.. Had to copy-and-paste it from a site. What kind of a crush-er am I?!?!)

Loved him the minute he sang at his audition in San Diego. He had vocal chord paralysis but still sings well. He sang Waiting On The World To Change by John Mayer, by the way. Plus points for singing a John Mayer song. ;)

Here’s David in Hollywood, singing Heaven by Bryan Adams. (Aayyy Kilig! )

And as our beloved Simon Cowell puts it, “You’re young, you’re likable, and you’ve got a great voice. Not a bad place to be, right?”. Couldn’t agree more. D

I was doing a bit of searching in youtube and found a clip of him singing AND playing the piano. This kid is uber talented, I tell you.

I’m in laaav! So what if he’s only 16. lol (I’m such a teenybopper! Teehee!)
I so hope he does well in the succeeding rounds *crossesfingers*.

I happened to stumble upon a recipe of KFC©’s Crispy Chicken Strips. Since my brothers are KFC addicts, I decided to try it out for dinner. I kinda deviated from the original marinade recipe since I didn’t have Potassium, Bottled Chicken Concentrate and MSG. I instead used 5 chicken bouillon cubes to compensate for the chicken concentrate. )

Tasted almost the same as the original except that it’s less spicy. I’ll just try to adjust the recipe the next time I cook this. The only drawback of this meal is the lack of KFC’s gravy. But overall, it was delish. wink

I also started dabbling with food photography. After seeing his portfolio, I was inspired to do the same. While mine aren’t as beautiful as his, I’m still proud of my first shots though they’re quite amateurish. )

Ai5 Top 3!
The final 3 will perform three songs each. It was already confirmed the Elliott will sing Bobby Caldwell’s What You Won’t Do For Love which was chosen by Paula. Taylor Hicks will be singing You Are so Beautiful by Joe Cocker, chosen by Randy Jackson. Katharine McPhee will sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland picked by Simon Cowell.

For the remaining two, they’ll sing a song of their choice, and a song chosen by music producer, Clive Davis. While there were rumors as to what the three would sing for these categories, those have not been cofirmed yet. Guess we shall just have to wait and see. wink

I mentioned in my previous entry that my early favorites this season are Taylor and Kat. I’m happy that the two are part of the top 3—but, I’ll be totally ecstatic if Elliott Yamin would get the title. I’ve grown to love him as the season progressed. He’s humble, genuine, goofy, dorky plus he sings soooooooooo damn well I get goose bumps! So yeah, he’s my pick to win this thing! GO ELLIOTT!! ♥♥

Hope he’ll do well on tomorrow’s show. And I hope the voter’s won’t screw up by voting for the wrong person. blah C’mon! Vote like YAMIN it! ♥

02MarYummy Yamin

I’m really starting to dig that Yamin guy. Really great voice. That song’s hard to cover but he pulled it off.

I haven’t watched the episode yet (can’t wait to see it tonight), but I downloaded the mp3 from Rickey’s Site and was amazed.

Of course, Hearing and watching Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks perform is always a treat.

Yeah I agree with Paula. Can we have more boys this season? Muahaha.

Watched the season premier of The Amazing Race last night. The “Frosties” Ladies cracked me up. They’re sooo hyper haha! But I think I’ll root for the nerdy couple (for now) cause they’re sweet and look so cute together haha.

26FebAmerican Idol 5

It was Jasmine Trias during season three..

Carrie Underwood last year..
(But I know not many people like her)

And now, AI5’s here. Who am I rooting for?

Actually, I’m torn.

There are so many good singers this season!

Let’s see. The young and talented—Paris Bennett and Lisa Tucker. Their performances gave me goose bumps. Really impressive!

The gorgeous guys—David Radford (love the dimples), Ace Young (ooh that look. those sexy eyes.. *chills*) and sige na nga, Will Makar (though he reminds me so much of Fred Savage but he’s cute na rin)

The rocker/loving husband and father—Chris Daughtry.

The not-so-good-looking-but-man!-can-you-sing—Elliott Yamin who’s really starting to grow on me. That Stevie Wonder song was amazing! Very good voice. I love it.

There’s also Mandisa who has a very powerful voice and such great personality. She’s famous for making Simon Cowell apologize on National TV. Love her.

And then there’s another Pinoy, Sway—though I’m not really sure if I’m digging his style. But yeah, he can sing so I’m proud naman.

However, there are two people that really stand out for me.

I love love LOVE them since the auditions. Not only do they have great voices, but their personalities are great too. And what charisma! They have the “likeability” factor as often mentioned by the judges. Both are sincere, dedicated, passionate and grrrr-adorable haha. Love love love them! I hope they go all the way to the top.
